Dr. M. Jan Tackett is a rehabilitation psychologist specializing in health and disability issues. He is board certified in Rehabilitation Psychology and has worked for three decades with patients with chronic illness and other medical conditions. He has served in leadership roles in several national and local organizations and published numerous articles and chapters related to spinal cord injury, psychotherapy training, and supervision.  

His approach to psychotherapy is grounded in a cognitive behavioral model and follows best practices available through current scientific evidence. Dr. Tackett has a strong commitment to establishing shared goals with clients and working together to achieve the optimal quality of life possible for each person. Mindfulness, positive psychology, and creating meaning in life are central to his collaborative approach.

Dr. Tackett completed his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Denver specializing in psychotherapy outcomes and ethical decision-making. He has maintained a career-long commitment to serving veterans with chronic health conditions such as spinal cord injury and acquired brain injury. He is active in leadership, training, and supervision research as well as developing novel approaches to managing the social and psychological impacts of disability.

Dr. Tackett has been licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Washington since 2000 and his license number is 2403. He is Board Certified as a Rehabilitation Psychologist since 2010 and his Diploma number is 6600. He is member of PSYPACT, which makes it possible for him to practice telepsychology across most U.S. states (APIT Number: 15930).
