About Dr. Garibyan

Dr. Aileen Garibyan is a licensed clinical psychologist who views the purpose of psychotherapy as working collaboratively to grow insight, identify and cultivate resiliency, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and progress towards individualized goals of personal growth. She values individual therapy not only to address and reduce problematic thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, but also to improve and maintain well-being.

Dr. Garibyan believes in working collaboratively with individuals to empower them in reaching their goals. She utilizes elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness techniques, and Humanistic approaches. She utilizes a strengths-based approach, drawing on the individual’s own strengths, resiliency, and resources.  Dr. Garibyan also strongly considers both the individual/their past experiences and environmental factors including family and culture in treatment. She values the patient-centered perspective, tailoring treatment with consideration of the individual’s unique needs, preferences, and values.

She believes individual therapy can serve as a safe haven to openly process past wounds, learn ways to cope with past, current, or upcoming stressors, and to identify and develop skills and traits to better tackle both unexpected or planned challenges that come one’s way.
