About Dr. Hastings

Dr. Teri Hastings, PhD is trained in psychotherapy, neuropsychology, and rehabilitation psychology and has spent the past 25 years working with psychological, behavioral, health, and disability issues in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings (private practice, inpatient hospital, inpatient psychiatric hospital, and jail settings).

Dr. Hastings’ therapy approach is evidence-based and individualized, pulling from cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and acceptance therapies and using approaches that resonate with a particular client. Acknowledgement and respect for individual differences and backgrounds are highly important to her. She views her responsibility as a psychologist as a lifelong commitment to her learning process regarding such differences and to integrate such learning into therapy.

Background

Dr. Hastings received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. She completed her predoctoral internship at the University of Washington Medical Center, focusing on adult, adolescent, and child inpatient and outpatient assessment and treatment, child neuropsychology, as well as forensic assessment and expert witness testimony. Dr. Hastings also obtained her postdoctoral training at Child Study and Treatment Center in Steilacoom, WA.

Dr. Hastings worked in individual private practice in Seattle for 14 years where she focused on individual and family therapy, coparenting therapy post-divorce, forensic assessment, and neuropsychological assessment.

Prior to joining Rowan Center, Dr. Hastings was a rehabilitation psychologist at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD, which is a regional hospital serving western South Dakota, eastern Wyoming, and northwestern Nebraska. Her focus was on inpatient and outpatient neuropsychological assessment, individual, and family therapy with people adjusting to chronic illness or injury, or acquired or traumatic brain injury.

Dr. Hastings is licensed by the Board of Examiners of Psychologists in the state of Washington, license number PY2375. She also has a telehealth license for the state of Florida, license number TPPY2728.
