Welcome to the Rowan Center for Behavioral Medicine

Each licensed Psychologist at the Rowan Center are specialists in the diagnosis, assessment, evaluation and treatment of psychological challenges.   We work with patients to alleviate emotional and physical distress as well as social and behavioral difficulties.

There are countless reasons why people seek therapy. Many are burdened with anxiety, depression, addiction, or low self-esteem that impacts their ability to live life to the fullest. Others are drawn to therapy when their lives are turned upside down by a sudden change or stressor such as a medical illness, infertility, divorce or the death of a loved one. Still others seek therapy in order to gain greater insight into their habitual patterns and to cultivate a more balanced and vibrant life. We believe that our role as psychologists is more than “fixing problems.” Our intention is to assist you in developing an individualized treatment plan that facilitates a balance of mind, body and spirit. We strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental and safe space to increase each individuals ability to authentically engage in the world in a meaningful way.

Specialty Areas

What to expect at your first session:

  • Please arrive 15 minutes early so you can fill out a couple of questionnaires.
  • During the first session you will spend the first 10 minutes reviewing and signing consent forms and office policies.
  • Your first session or two will be a comprehensive evaluation. Your clinician will ask questions to gather important information about your history and current symptoms. While answering questions of a personal nature can be uncomfortable at times, the purpose of the evaluation is to better understand you as an individual and how some of your current difficulties may have arrived. Always remember you are in charge of this session. You can say as little or as much as you want.
  • After the evaluation is complete we begin developing a treatment plan together. Together, we set goals, discuss your treatment options and collaboratively decide what would be the best fit for you.
  • Please feel free to call us to ask us any questions you may have. We know it is scary to take the first step to enter therapy but we also know that it can be very rewarding.
